About Squirrel Notes
A privacy-first note-taking app designed for unfocused minds
Squirrel Notes was built for people with ADHD and anyone who needs a frictionless way to capture, organize, and find their thoughts. In a world where our attention is constantly pulled in different directions, we believe you deserve a tool that works with your brain, not against it.
Like a squirrel gathering and protecting its precious acorns for the winter, Squirrel Notes helps you gather and protect your most valuable resource — your thoughts, ideas, and memories. We've built a note-taking app that combines zero-friction capture with enterprise-grade security, ensuring your scattered thoughts stay organized and completely private.
Privacy is core, not an afterthought. All user content — note bodies, titles, collection names, tag names, and attachment filenames — is encrypted client-side using AES-256-GCM before it ever leaves your browser. Your passphrase never touches our servers, which means we can't read your notes even if we wanted to. That's by design.

Why "Squirrel"?
Squirrels are nature's ultimate preparers — they gather, cache, and retrieve thousands of acorns with remarkable recall. They're clever, resourceful, and always thinking ahead. For people with ADHD, the challenge isn't having ideas — it's capturing and finding them later. That's exactly what Squirrel Notes does: helps you gather your thoughts, organize them intuitively, and retrieve them instantly when you need them. Plus, squirrels are adorable, and we thought the tech world could use a little more charm.
